Studies
Learning painting from the great masters is essential for deepening one’s artistic skills. Copying is not just about reproducing a work; it is a crucial learning experience for refining techniques.
Grisaille, as in Van Eyck’s « Portrait of a Man in a Red Turban », explores the nuances of light and shadow, creating the depth characteristic of 15th-century Flemish paintings.
Studying impressionists like Monet, Cézanne, Pissarro, or Caillebotte, I observed the subtlety of colors and the details of composition. When copying Monet’s « A Garden at Vétheuil », I analyzed his use of color, his application of paint, and his approach to composition.
